Art: Accessing Prophecy through Creativity
with Bruce Taylor
Art in a society seems to have at least two roles: one being the commercial aspect, where less attention is paid to the content but more to how to make money by our artistic endeavor. The other role is that of art for the sake of art--to explore, to wonder, to see where the muse takes one. Sometimes it takes the artist into strange realms that can indeed become "prophetic"--did George Orwell know that his book, l984 would become a template for contemporary American society instead of a warning as he intended? How did Huxley know that at least some of which he wrote about in Brave New World, would come to pass? Lucky guesses or--did these two writers know something about people, the world, the universe--that made their works prophetic indeed?
In this workshop, we'll look at our artistic and creative expressions though centering and focusing with Hypnosis, the brilliant concepts of C. G. Jung, the I Ching, and the work of Julia Cameron and her fine book, The Artist's Way to assist participants in exploring their ability to access the innate gift of prophecy that may well lie within us all.
Bring writing paper, pens, paints, paper, and be prepared to--explore and discover how much we know that we did not know--we knew.
