Permaculture for Kids
with Jamie Mulligan-Smith
Seed balls are very easy to make and truly incredible for regenerating the land under all types of enivormental conditions. A seed ball is a micro-universe which contains compost, clay, and seeds. The circular structure, made of clay and compost, protects the seeds from the sun, wind, rain, birds, insects and any other element which may cause the seed to not germinate. The ingredients allow the seeds to sprout when the conditions are perfect. This method has been successful in attracting many beneficial insects into the garden and has transformed bare and unsightly spots into beautiful wild garden.
Come and join us as we get down and dirty while making seed balls with new friends! We will create seed balls that are essential to regnerating Mother Earth and better understand our own human potential. We will also tune into our 5 senses through song, movement, and game. Finally we will discover what our own ecological foot prints are as we brainstorm ways to be "green."
